A member of Aganang mopping one of the houses included on the cleanliness is close to Godliness campaign.
It had been one of the most labouring weekends for the Aganang Home Based Care team as they went about cleaning a couple of senior citizens homes. "We care about the healthy living of our of the elderly and we always give them first priority when launching our campaigns, so with this program we are looking to engage with a few cleaning companies to assist with their supplies so that we can try maybe expand this to two days in a week as you know cleanliness is closer to Godliness and it improves the health of our elders" said Lerato Lethoko who has been appointed to lead the campaign.
The campaign has been welcomed by the community and the school principal at Mamogwai Secondary School has pledged his support for the campaign and has selected a group of learners who will also run a few errands for the elderly this will be small things like going to buy bread for them as they are unable to walk the distance of a local shop.
The program will continue for the better part of the year and the Aganang team are confident it will gain momentum and bring in more interested parties to assist with donations and the cleaning supplies for them to be able to clean more homes and to sustain the program.
"We urge the community to bring in more ideas and to suggest on points that we might be missing as you know it takes a village to do anything and to achieve certain goals we cannot do it on our own" - Stressed Nthabiseng Lethoko of the executive members of the organization.
